Snowobile Drag Races to Race Into Speedway Miramichi

For the first time ever, Speedway Miramichi will roar to life during the winter months, albeit with a different type of horsepower.

Saturday March 2nd will see the venue typically used for stock car racing play host to snowmobile drags races. This comes by popular demand after years of optimism about being able to host an event at the speedway in the winter months. Changes to the speedway property in the past year will finally allow for this event to be hosted.

“The response has been overwhelming,” said owner Barry Richard. “We’ve been hard at work preparing the facility to accommodate this event. The timing is perfect. There is a lot of excitement brewing, and this has the potential to be one of the biggest snowmobile drag racing competitions the province has seen in recent years!”

Registration is now open for the drag races. Drivers can now register on the speedway website here. Registration costs $40 per entry. 14 different classes will contest races, with the format being single elimination style brackets.

Admission on race day will be $5 for competitors and $10 for spectators. Gates will open at 9am on race day, with racing beginning at 12pm sharp.

Competitors and spectators are encouraged to stay tuned to all Speedway Miramichi social media accounts for updates on the event as it approaches!
