BOMBERS ARE READY FOR THE BIG ONE
As the first half of the season nears its end, we are getting set for the T&L Abatement and Remediation Firecracker Night. The Stock Car portion of the evening will be highlighted by the Bomber Firecracker 50.
After the first two events, the top 3 drivers are only separated by a 5 point margin, giving the chance to any of our top drivers to overtake the top of the score boards after the dust settles on Saturday night. It will be a fight between the three youngest drivers on the track who are currently sitting in podium positions; #13 Axten MacLean in the top spot by one point followed by #43 Riley Connell in second and #11 Alex Duguay in third. But you can't count out Speedway Miramichi veteran Robert Legere's #04x or defending 2023 Bomber Champion John Dickson's #3 just behind the top three. Not to mention the plethora of racing talent rounding out our biggest stock car field, the Firecracker Bomber 50 is guaranteed to be a Feature race you do not want to miss!
The Atlantic Modified Tour will be making its second stop of the summer at Speedway Miramichi and the drivers are sure to bring the thunder to the track! Miramichi's own Doug Matchett will be looking to pull off back-to-back feature wins at the track but Conrad Murphy and Braxton Stafford are sure to make him work for it as they try to secure that top spot and maintain that podium momentum.
Street Stock and Mini Stock action will kick off the evening with 20 lap features each. Although these fields are bringing smaller car counts this season, it hasn't deterred the action out on the track. Street Stock action saw a tight battle between the #28 of Axten MacLean and the intimidating black #13 of Brad MacLean with bumper to bumper action at the end of last month's feature with the younger generation MacLean taking the checkers.
Mini Stock action seen a tight battle through 20 laps between Rob Poirier's #0 and the '23 Champion JR Lawson, with Poirier driving away from the feature victorious. You can be sure JR Lawson is coming to Miramichi prepared to gain the win this time around.
The ladies of the Powder Puff division have had some shuffles in feature winners so far this year, Monique Benoit's #007 in May and Tania Jean in the #22 in June. Will we see a new name at the top of the podium this weekend or a repeat winner gunning for the top spot?
Demo action will be contested with a dash for cash, reverse race, bump-to-pass and a figure 8 to qualify for the final demo of the Firecracker Night. Not to forget the fan favorite Burnout Competition and the annual Firecracker Night fireworks display!
Be sure to be at Speedway Miramichi on Saturday, July 20th, for a night of racing excitement!
The Firecracker Night presented by T&L Abatement and Remediation kicks off at 5pm, grandstands open at 3.
